About Us

In opening a small local yarn shop in Woodstock, NY, we hope to engage with and contribute to the rich culture of fiber arts that thrives in the Catskills region.

 

We aim to provide a space for makers to learn from one another and create things that wouldn’t otherwise exist within a welcoming and affirming community. We offer high quality yarns accommodating a range of budgets. 

It is especially timely that we honor and acknowledge the role fiber arts have played in the pursuit of freedom, justice and equality throughout American history, from colonial women whose knitting and weaving made it possible to boycott British goods, to Sojourner Truth, who taught knitting to freed people to promote financial independence, to the Suffragists, who used knitting strategically to demonstrate political engagement, to the AIDS Memorial Quilt of 1987, to the Pussy Hats of the Women’s March of 2017, and so many more examples that continue today.
